FAHRENHEIT 451 ESSAY

When reading this book I noticed that it is related to modern time. I noticed that technology is taking over human society. In this present day we just use our phone and us people are addicted to it, we also just sit down and we prefer to watch the giant " polar walls"and not come out of the house. We in modern time don't even socialize a lot. Our conversation are no fun, its mainly about apps,cars etc. We don't see what is going on in the world. The only time we know something is happening to the world is when we see it on social media and it is trending.We don't go out and have fun and see the good and enjoy life. Knowledge is not even needed today because of technology. We don't memorize things because computers do it for us. When we want to look for a definition we don't use a dictionary book or use context clues from the book we just use google to search it up.  People want more technology, for example faster internet. We don't give time to have happiness.

People don't even read books they use the internet. When Montag reads "Dover Beach" Mrs. Phelps reaction was that she cried because she hasn't heard someone read a poem. She was surprised that someone can read. This relates to modern time because people don't even read anymore they search up for short summaries or they look up  for  answers of the book.  Faber argues about people not taking time to read books and actually learn from it. Books teach life lessons and Faber wants people to learn from it in real life. Faber believes that books are valuable.  

We are lazy people. We are responsible for our media because us people are the ones that are willing to pay,share,tweet,post. We want things to be done for us, instead of us doing it ourselves.
