In the Great Gatsby it represented the American dream which was love mainly and poverty. when jay would throw parties and invite almost anyone it relates to modern time because now in days their are many people who like to gamble. They waste money on unnecessary things. For example, a Gucci belt. When Daisy and Gatsby met Gatsby wasn't a wealthy man but Daisy was. They both fell in love and Daisy wanted a wealthy man. Gatsby worked hard to get wealthy but daisy didn't even bother to wait for him. Daisy was one who loved money. This relates to modern time because many people want to get rich and do what famous people do. Some famous people were born wealthy already just like Daisy. Now in days in a relationship money is what people pay attention to instead of how peoples personality really is. Gatsby had faith that Daisy still loves him. The valley of ashes represented all the bad things that have to deal with wealth. All Gatsby wanted was to find happiness with Daisy and take her with him. The green light represented that Gatsby was able to move on even though he passed away.

My First Essay !

                                                               Running It's fun running, but not always. Beating your time is fun and gets you really excited. The workouts are the ones that will Kill you and make you want to quit. Meeting new people is always fun. Cross Country is one of the sports to communicate and just have fun while running, but again it's the hard workout that makes you want to quit. It's good to have hard work outs because it helps you improve.       What I don't like about it is that we have to go to practice everyday and sometimes I am busy with school, but I don't know if I like running. I sometimes feel like something is holding me back and I'm regret it if I quit.      While running you could let your mind out and just let everything out. Emerson's thesis is that you are the only one that you could be. Self-Reliance is about pretty much you being you and showing who you really are.    The main idea is supported by the tone because the tone is challenging. This essay is pretty hard to understand but it's worth being challenged. I know he isn't trying to challenge us. Emerson likes when people are themselves and show who you really are. He wants you to understand yourself because there is always a good way to change. For example, when he quoted "Rainbow to follow the cloud"he  was so right on what he meant with that.
